What next for the Middle East and the World: More Mossad assassinations, False Flag operations and Europe talking yet more war.
Since Israel bombed Iran and killed many people, including leading military and civilian figures, along with their families in the night, and followed by the U.S. bombing Iran with their B-2 bombers and Iran’s response which showed it can break through Israel’s vaunted Iron Dome defense with impunity, we are now in a period of lull, not a formal ceasefire. What is going to happen now.
It seemed Israel really wanted a stop in the bombing of its country, which was doing serious structural damage, and to its moral. It was tired after 18 months of multiple wars but especially because the war came home to Tel Aviv and not in Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, or Lebanon. It also seemed that Trump didn’t want a further expansion of the war with Tehran. His bombing campaign was mostly for show but also to appease Israel and Netanyahu’s obsession with destroying Iran’s nuclear agenda, which has been an excuse to destroy Iran’s regime and make the country bow to Israel’s agenda of domination. Netanyahu has been talking about the threat of Iran for thirty years. This was a dream come true for him, so when he was given the go ahead to bomb Iran, knowing that Trump would back him up he went for it and of course that temporarily helped him domestically. But Trump also has shown that he will not simply do all of Israel’s bidding. He has since criticized Netanyahu, publicly telling him off to quit the bombing as Israel sought to exploit the “ceasefire”, and an argument can be made that the bombing of Iran was done to stop Israel going any further. That is why also why Iran’s response to the U.S. attack was given warning to the U.S. and Qatar beforehand.
Now that it has happened Iran is still standing, despite the viciousness of Israel’s attack. The regime stands, the people are coming together, and Iran’s allies, including Russia and China, are planning how to further support Iran. Also, at least publicly, Trump has said he is not after regime change (not now anyway). Even if that is definitely Netanyahu’s dream, maybe it is not Trumps, which would put him in a fight with his own neo-con militants in the U.S.
So, for Israel, they will try and continue the genocide in Gaza, the war in Lebanon and Syria and also influence what is happening in Iraq and the wider region. It will do this for a while and build up its arms. They will also plan the next spate of assassinations.
What assassinations?
Any perceived enemies of Zionism in Iran, Middle East, Europe, North America is fair game. The sky is the limit. As this article in responsiblestatecraft back a long time ago in 2020 outlines, the list of Zionist assassinations is a long one and often backed by the U.S.
The article discusses how a nuclear scientist was killed in 2020 in a terrible hail of bullets and bombs, with an Israeli official saying, the world should thank Israel for assassinating him. The article states that Mossad had a list of 15 targets, and between 2007 and 2012, at least seven were targeted. But this began in earnest back in 2003 when the Mossad Director initiated a top-secret plan to sabotage Iran’s nuclear plan. So twenty-two years later it’s the same game. Israel is determined to be the only nuclear power in the region, they know that if Iran chose to get a nuclear bomb and succeeded, Israel’s default dominance and its Samon Option is threatened, which could no longer be used to threaten its enemies, or friends for that matter. For them, Iran’s threat, whether real or not, needs to be dealt with. Once Iran is dealt with, Israel has its eyes on taking down Pakistan’s nuclear capacity. They need to be the only nuclear power in the region and no Arab/Muslim country is allowed to have it.
The article describes the coordination of this plan between Israel’s Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert and President George W. Bush, quoting a book by Ronen Bergman, “Rise and Kill First: The Secret of Israel’s targeted assassinations.” This relationship between the countries is traced to the 1950s with David Ben Gurion meeting Allan Dulles, the head of the FBI and also with James Angleton, head of the CIA. (Angleton was known to be an agent for Israel in the years he was with the CIA) and it was given a name, Operation Balsam. The initial pact between the organizations did not include assassinations, which were prohibited by U.S. law. But the nuclear scientists in Iran were likely killed by MEK, an expatriate Iranian opposition group, which likely was involved in the latest assassinations in Iran, which has been financed, armed, and trained directly by Mossad, and indirectly by the U.S. This was stated also by U.S. journalist Seymour Hersh.
Hillary Clinton denied U.S. involvement when another Iranian nuclear scientist was assassinated in 2012, but evidence of Israel’s and U.S. involvement is there. Not only Iranian scientists but Palestinians were also targeted, with a secret deal made between Ariel Sharon and Condoleezza Rice (remember her), to support Israel in its war against the Palestinians, including targeted killings. Another coordinated assassination was in 2008 of the Hezbollah chief of International Operations, which was reported in the Washington Post and Newsweek, admitting that the U.S. was directly involved. Any illusion that the U.S. is not involved in such killings was blown out of the water in 2020 when Iran’s general Qassam Suleimani was assassinated by the U.S. near Baghdad. Mike Pompeo had directly notified Netanyahu of the attack.
More recently in Russia, we have seen assassinations of Russian military personnel and others by Ukraine, stepping over yet another red line, and contravening the Geneva Convention. It is not that assassinations have not always happened, but that certain countries, especially including Israel and now in collusion with the U.S. have made it a formal doctrine, a preferred method of clandestine warfare.
This other article in Unz.com by its founder Ron Unz takes us much further into the history of assassinations carried out by Mossad and the state of Israel, again quoting from the book by Ronen Bergman, in his article called Zionist Israel as the assassination nation.
The book reviewed by Pollack was Rise and Kill First by New York Times reporter Ronen Bergman, a weighty study of the Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence service, together with its sister agencies. The author devoted six years of research to the project, which was based upon a thousand personal interviews and access to an enormous number of official documents previously unavailable. As suggested by the title, his primary focus was Israel’s long history of assassinations, and across his 750 pages and thousand-odd source references he recounts the details of an enormous number of such incidents.
That sort of topic is obviously fraught with controversy, but Bergman’s volume carried glowing cover-blurbs from Pulitzer Prize-winning authors on espionage matters, and the official cooperation he received is indicated by similar endorsements from both a former Mossad chief and Ehud Barak, a past Prime Minister of Israel who himself had once led assassination squads. Over the last couple of decades, former CIA officer Robert Baer has become one of our most prominent authors in this same field, and he praised the book as “hands down” the best he had ever read on intelligence, Israel, or the Middle East. The reviews across our elite media were equally laudatory…
The sheer quantity of such foreign assassinations was really quite remarkable, with the knowledgeable reviewer in the New York Times suggesting that the Israeli total over the last half-century or so seemed far greater than that of any other nation. I might even go farther: if we excluded domestic killings, I wouldn’t be surprised if Israel’s body-count greatly exceeded the combined total for that of all other major countries in the world. I think all the lurid revelations of lethal CIA or KGB Cold War assassination plots that I have seen discussed in newspaper articles might fit comfortably into just a chapter or two of Bergman’s extremely long book.
In terms of Mossad’s possible assassination and terror operations, not in the Middle East, but in the U.S.A itself, Unz lays out the evidence in this and other articles, and including other authors too. He describes how Israel is likely to have been involved in the assassinations of both John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy, as well as having been involved in the 9/11 attacks in New York. It may seem too far- fetched for some to accept, but it is worth reading the evidence and really considering how far a rogue state and a rogue organization like the Mossad may go to in order to protect their own interests in the world. One of the most quoted and categorical examples of how far Israel will go to is how the Israeli armed forces bombed and tried to sink an unarmed surveillance ship, called the U.S.S. Liberty in 1967, aiming to sink the ship, kill everyone on board and blame it on Egypt, hence bringing the U.S. into the war with Egypt. The boat didn’t sink, but around 39 were killed. However, the U.S. forgave their friend, Israel, even though it was a despicable act of betrayal, showing how close and how co-dependent the relationship is. But if Israel would do this, what else would they do and what else would the U.S. do to provoke more war? More from Unz:
For example, 9/11 skeptics have sometimes argued that it would have been extremely difficult for any plotters to have placed the necessary explosives inside the WTC towers. But in my article I summarized Bergman’s account of how Israeli Defense Minister Ariel Sharon launched a huge wave of false-flag terrorist bombings in Lebanon during the early 1980s, culminating in what he intended would be the total destruction of a crowded sports stadium.
Under Israeli direction, large car bombs began exploding in the Palestinian neighborhoods of Beirut and other Lebanese cities, killing or injuring enormous numbers of civilians. A single attack in October inflicted nearly 400 casualties, and by December, there were eighteen bombings per month, with their effectiveness greatly enhanced by the use of innovative new Israeli drone technology. Official responsibility for all the attacks was claimed by a previously unknown Lebanese organization, but the intent was to provoke the PLO into military retaliation against Israel, thereby justifying Sharon’s planned invasion of the neighboring country.
Since the PLO stubbornly refused to take the bait, plans were put into motion for the huge bombing of an entire Beirut sports stadium using tons of explosives during a January 1st political ceremony, with the death and destruction expected to be “of unprecedented proportions, even in terms of Lebanon.” But Sharon’s political enemies learned of the plot and emphasized that many foreign diplomats including the Soviet ambassador were expected to be present and probably would be killed, so after a bitter debate, Prime Minister Begin ordered the attack aborted. A future Mossad chief mentions the major headaches they then faced in removing the large quantity of explosives that they had already planted within the structure.
Even more dramatically, Unz lays out the evidence of assassination attempts, successes, and possible future victims, including Winston Churchill, Harry Truman, James Forrestal, U.S. Secretary of Defense under Truman and even George W. Bush. The potential list was endless.
Bergman would have severely damaged his credibility if he had failed to include the infamous 1940s Zionist assassinations of Britain’s Lord Moyne or U.N. Peace Negotiator Count Folke Bernadotte. But he unaccountably failed to mention that in 1937 the more right-wing Zionist faction whose political heirs have dominated Israel for the last half-century assassinated Chaim Arlosoroff, the highest-ranking Zionist figure in Palestine. Moreover, he omitted a number of similar incidents, including those targeting top Western leaders. As I wrote last year:
Indeed, the inclination of the more right-wing Zionist factions toward assassination, terrorism, and other forms of essentially criminal behavior was really quite remarkable. For example, in 1943 Shamir had arranged the assassination of his factional rival, a year after the two men had escaped together from imprisonment for a bank robbery in which bystanders had been killed, and he claimed he had acted to avert the planned assassination of David Ben-Gurion, the top Zionist leader and Israel’s future founding-premier. Shamir and his faction certainly continued this sort of behavior into the 1940s, successfully assassinating Lord Moyne, the British Minister for the Middle East, and Count Folke Bernadotte, the UN Peace Negotiator, though they failed in their other attempts to kill American President Harry Truman and British Foreign Minister Ernest Bevin, and their plans to assassinate Winston Churchill apparently never moved past the discussion stage. His group also pioneered the use of terrorist car-bombs and other explosive attacks against innocent civilian targets, all long before any Arabs or Muslims had ever thought of using similar tactics; and Begin’s larger and more “moderate” Zionist faction did much the same.
The early Zionists seem to have had a record of political terrorism almost unmatched in history, and in 1974 Prime Minister Menachem Begin even boasted in a television interview that he had been the founding father of worldwide terrorism.
Unz also looks at whether Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi who died in a helicopter crash last year in 2024, was in fact assassinated by Mossad and even explores the possibility that former President Zia-ul-haq of Pakistan and his cabinet, including some U.S. personnel were assassinated in 1998 when their plane crashed in Pakistan. Israel was keen to see Pakistan’s nuclear capacity destroyed and attempted to bring India in to help, but this was not taken up, so Israel perhaps took matters into their own hands. It is worth reading this whole article to look at all these possibilities and ideas of what is possible.
A couple more quotes to finish with:
Political assassinations and terrorist attacks are closely connected operations, and they sometimes blend into each other, as may be seen in the case of the thousands of Lebanese killed or maimed last year by Mossad’s booby-trapped pagers. Just after Israel’s successful September 2024 decapitation of Hezbollah, I published an article summarizing the unmatched record of Zionist and Israeli forces in that regard, also highlighting another book that usefully supplemented the material in Bergman’s magisterial volume.
A few days later, Israeli warplanes extended their operations by bombarding an area of south Beirut with some 80 bombs, many of them huge bunker-busters, in a successful attempt to kill Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. This attack on Lebanon’s capital totally destroyed an entire city block containing numerous large residential towers, producing images of utter devastation that Max Blumenthal noted closely resembled the ruins of the World Trade Center towers after 9/11. As far as I know, in recent decades no country other than Israel has ever employed or even contemplated the use of such extremely heavy ordnance against a densely-populated urban center, and I assume that the civilian death-toll will prove to have been enormous.
Although massive aerial bombardment of undefended cities in neighboring countries is not usually considered terrorism, it certainly constitutes an enormous war-crime, and killing such large numbers of civilians obviously serves to terrorize the entire surviving population. No other developed country in today’s world seems to demonstrate Israel’s total disregard for civilian human life, levelling an entire city block with bunker-buster bombs in hopes of assassinating a single enemy target.
One of history’s largest terrorist attacks prior to 9/11 was the 1946 bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem by Zionist militants dressed as Arabs, which killed 91 people and largely destroyed the structure. In the famous Lavon Affair of 1954, Israeli agents launched a wave of terrorist attacks against Western targets in Egypt, intending to have those blamed on anti-Western Arab groups. There are strong claims that in 1950 Israeli Mossad agents began a series of false-flag terrorist bombings against Jewish targets in Baghdad, successfully using those violent methods to help persuade Iraq’s thousand-year-old Jewish community to emigrate to the Jewish state. In 1967, Israel launched a deliberate air and sea attack against the U.S.S. Liberty, intending to leave no survivors, killing or wounding over 200 American servicemen before word of the attack reached our Sixth Fleet and the Israelis withdrew.
What is to come: More War and Britain’s goals of defeating Russia
Given the evidence above and more that is documented both in Unz.com and also in responsiblestatecraft, among other critics of Western militarism, one can conclude that we can expect to see more assassinations and more false flag operations. The war we are seeing now is by no means over. This was the 1st round.
Also, as the latest NATO shit show has come to an end, members have been forced by the U.S. to promise to spend a minimum of 5% of their GDP on their military, which means for most country increasing their military expenditure by 100 to 150%. Some countries, including Spain are recoiling at this, knowing they can’t afford it, but others, including Poland are already there. Important European leaders like Merz, Macron and Starmer are talking up war with Russia, implying that it is about to invade Europe. So once again, Europe may be led to war by corrupt, feckless leaders who are willing to send their own people to war for no reason, just like before. At the center of this is Britain, where Zelensky went to meet King Charles, again, in an unprecdented display of the Royal Family being used for overt political purposes. This was no social visit but yet another declaration of Britain’s continued goal to support Ukraine till the end. Zelensky then went to the Den of the Deep State in Britain, Chatham House, to talk up more war with Russia and Starmer declared a new military goal of developing advanced drone technology to be used against Russia. So even as Trump at least talks about ending hostilities between Ukraine and Russia, Britain is actively pursuing the war, and so doing, hoping to keep the U.S. engaged to back Britain and Europe up. Its a similar strategy to what Israel uses to keep the U.S. with them as they pursue their own goals.
There is also currently rumour in the blogosphere that some kind of false flag operation, likely to be blamed on Russia or perhaps China and Iran may well happen in the next weeks. Apart from outright assassinations, false flag operations are another favourite past time of global intelligence agencies, especially the CIA, MI6 and Mossad, often working hand in hand. So we better keep our eyes open as events unfold and remember: question everything, accept nothing. Follow the evidence: who benefits?
