The deliberate plan of Israel to starve the Palestinian people.
The Israeli government has repeatedly stated they are not obstructing aid getting into Gaza. However, all aid going into Gaza has to be inspected and pass through a series of hurdles before entering, even the border entrance from Egypt. It can take days for trucks to get through and yet Israel says it is not interfering in any way. Do we believe this.
At the same time, the United Nations voted 14-0 with one abstention (USA) for an immediate ceasefire. The International Court of Justice also made further legally binding statements that Israel needs to immediately comply in doing all it can to prevent possible genocide. Implied in that is Israel’s blatant resistance in adhering to the previous ICH declaration. UNRWA workers have been prevented going into Gaza and all aid organized by UNRWA is not getting through. (Remember that some countries, including the USA and UK suspended donations to UNRWA – the largest UN body working in the Middle East – after FALSE allegations from Israel that a few UNRWA workers were working for Hamas. This was refuted even by Channel 4 in the UK and yet a number of countries suspended donations merely based on Israeli accusations, which turned out, yet again, to be lies. Similar to the lies of beheaded babies and mass rapes.)
Evidence is coming out of widespread torture of prisoners, including around 30 dying in custody of torture, sexual violence and other forms of violent abuse. Babies and young children are left to die in hospitals as power is cut off and medical staff assassinated. UNRWA workers were tortured by the IDF to making confessions. Medical staff have routinely been killed in Israel operations, including now with the total destruction of Al Shifa and other hospitals. There is enough evidence on multiple channels, even mainstream ones like Al Jazeera, that show Israeli soldiers routinely kill innocent people and those waving white flags.
In Germany, a Jewish anti-Zionist peace organization has had its bank account frozen by the bank in Berlin and ordered to supply all details of all members, including tax information. This is illegal and yet they are doing it. One more example of a government in a so-called democratic country that has declared war on democracy and threatens to pass laws, banning criticism of the state and banning a political party, the AfD. The European Union is quickly degenerating into a totalitarian nightmare as more countries introduce censorship laws on top of EU laws.
Journalist, Glenn Greenwald has this report on his Rumble channel on the strategy of Israel to deliberately starve 2 million Palestinians and at the same time the World Bank is warning about imminent famine. Greenwald interviews journalist Jeremy Loffredo, who spent time both in the U.S with pro-Israeli demonstrators and then went to Israel where he spent days with settlers and other Israelis who traveled to the border with Gaza and proceeded to blockade the border, preventing any aid going through. He told Greenwald that after a few days, people were more willing to talk to him and tell him their feelings and the basic position that they gave is that they wanted to starve the Palestinians, all of them. They wanted to take Gaza back into greater Israel and so the Palestinians could either starve or leave. They didn’t care. As Loffredo reports, the border area is a military only zone. Any citizen encroaching there needs to be arrested and ejected and yet, he saw how the IDF welcomed there and showed them where to go, sharing food and drinks with each other.
It brings two things up. 1. That these “fanatical” settlers and demonstrators are working hand in hand with the IDF and Israeli government. The government is using them as an excuse to justify not sending aid in, on top of existing obstruction. Therefore, it is the government doing this. 2. It seems that it is in fact not only a few settlers and extremists that believe it is a good idea to starve Gazans by the million. There seems to be a majority of Israeli’s who agree with this and that the Palestinian people should be wiped off the map. We have a large number of ministers in the Israeli government saying this, like Ben Gvir, but instead of it being limited to the far-right Zionist fanatics, the toxic, racist extremism has now permeated into mainstream Jewish-Israeli society. Loffredo’s video report can be seen in full on The Gray Zone here. We need to remember this. The intention of the demonstrators is to starve 2 million people.
At the same time as the UN resolution is passed 14-0, Netanyahu is still saying they are planning the invasion of Rafa where 1.5 million people are now based. The question is now, what will be the tipping point. What will it take for either the West to pull the plug on its support, or even for complicit Muslim countries like Egypt and Turkey to say, enough! Both these countries have very large Muslim populations (and large armies – especially Turkey) who may just begin to put enough pressure on their leaders to do something. Israel also has just bombed Aleppo in Syria, killing more than 30 civilians and apparently 5 Hezbollah. It looks like the attacks there are aimed to provoke Iran into retaliating, which would then be used by Israel for a wider war in the region, and attempting to drag the USA into a direct war against Iran. Remember, this has been Israel’s aim all along, and especially that of Netanyahu. And now with the festival of Purim, with the celebration of the freedom of Jews in ancient Iran, involving the slaughter of 75,000 men, women and children (Book of Esther - but likely all fiction – but apparently one of Netanyahu’s favourite stories), the timing could be perfect. However, the point is, will the wider Muslim world stand up and say, enough and what will Israel do? Will Iran see the trap and not fall in it?
As this all happens, in the background, the legal case is being accumulated and one day, much too late, Israel will face some form of legal and moral reckoning for what it is doing now. Whether it makes any difference is the point. It may, IF enough people in countries all over the world call their government to account for Israel’s actions, or if Israel is threatened with sanctions and even military attacks.
Critics of Zionism have said for many years that at its root, it is a racist settler-colonial ideology. In essence, no different than previous settler ideologies where one group or race subjugates another, steals its land and resources and commits genocide on the people. Native peoples all over the world have experienced this forever, even amongst different tribes of the same basic race. However, now is different. It does not work anymore and this genocide is being committed in the most volatile region of the world with the whole world looking on.
In the end, whatever legitimacy the Jewish people had for their own homeland (and there were many different Jewish groups – orthodox, reform, secular, socialist Zionists etc) the question of the existing Palestinians led to one basic conclusion. In order for the Jewish state of Israel to exist and flourish, the indigenous Palestinians needed to go. Many non-Zionist Jews warned against the Jews going back to Israel and even President De Gaul of France warned about the consequences of a powerful Jewish state in the region, surrounded by Arab nations who were not asked what they thought. In this way, what is happening now is perhaps the inevitable conclusion of the Zionist experiment.
Most people were willing to give the Zionist experiment a chance, even if most people had no choice anyway of changing it. It was there so let’s find a solution for both peoples. Even the unilateral declaration of the state of Israel in 1948, was not done with UN consent, despite what is said (read Obstacles to Peace by Jeremy Hammond), maybe a solution could be found. It seems too late now.
And now we are here. The point of no return has been reached. A Palestinian state (two state solution or a joint Palestinian/Jewish state) is basically finished. In the aftermath of this genocide, can there really be a solution where both people can live together, or at least side by side. It is hard to see and from a spiritual point of view, the Jewish people of Israel need to pay a price for what they are doing. It cannot be swept under the rug anymore. There is no more normal and there should not be a back to normal. For some people, even Zionist Jews, they are seeing the writing on the wall. Maybe this will lead to the end of the Zionist experiment.
And finally, we have the nuclear option for the people of Israel. As this article in Unz Review by Laurent Guyenot quotes:
Martin van Creveld, professor of military history at the University of Jerusalem, explained to the British newspaper The Guardian in 2003 that the Palestinians’ recurrent Intifadas will find only one solution: the “transfer” of all Palestinians out of Palestine. On the risk of opposition from the international community to such a project, he added:
“We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions … We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under.”[i]
That’s the Samson Option in a nutshell. Its essence is nuclear terrorism.
The audacity and impunity of Israel today are incomprehensible if we do not take into account the Samson Option. But the Samson Option, like Jewish Power in general, is taboo: everyone must know about it, but no one has the right to talk about it. This silence is the ultimate test of Israel’s fear. In a very recent post, Seymour Hersh writes:
“No one who’s anyone in Washington is allowed to talk about Israel’s nuclear arsenal. Or how it affects the region. Or whether it serves U.S. interests, even as the Middle East teeters on the brink of regional war.”[3]
And there, maybe we have it. When Jewish people say “Never Again,” maybe this is now what it comes to. If the state of Israel is existentially challenged, if enough of the world say, its enough, and Israel’s right to exist is predicated directly to the right of Palestinians to have their own homeland then maybe, just maybe, the insanity we are seeing in Israel now, with a majority of Israelis condoning genocide, may lead to this threat being actively pursued if Israel is challenged to stop its genocide.
Maybe this is one more reason, apart from the powerful Jewish and evangelical lobbies in the USA and elsewhere – especially those mad millenarist fanatics that are getting the last red heifers ready (do read this other article for context) for ritual sacrifice in preparation for the Messiah – why Western governments cower and hide and don’t dare confront the Israeli government. They do paltry air drops which kill the Palestinians they are trying to help, and attempt to build a temporary port when a perfectly serviceable one exists a few miles north of Gaza. How embarrassing and humiliating for the world to see the USA, UK and other shit hole governments drop a few bags of rice while unable to directly face the fanatics and maniacs.
But maybe they are scared and think that Israel could really go rogue and would prefer to destroy the planet than give up a very small piece of land in the Eastern Mediterranean.
